Mental Health
Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs provide a structured, high-frequency environment for those requiring more support than standard therapy.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured, evidence-based behavioral health service designed to treat individuals experiencing mental health disorders and substance use disorders (SUD) (coming soon) who do not require inpatient hospitalization but need more support than traditional outpatient care.

The program provides 3 hours of clinical services per day, 3–5 days per week, delivered through a hybrid model (in-person and telehealth), ensuring accessibility, flexibility, and continuity of care.

This IOP is designed to serve adolescents and adults, addressing conditions such as:

  • Depression and anxiety disorders

  • Trauma-related disorders (including PTSD)

  • Bipolar disorder

  • Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders

  • Alcohol and drug dependency

Does Health Insurance
Cover Virtual Mental Health IOP Treatment?

Many commercial health insurance plans include benefits for intensive outpatient mental health treatment. Your specific coverage, estimated costs, and eligibility depend on your insurance plan. Your financial responsibility may include deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, or other out-of-pocket expenses.

Because mental health IOP is a structured level of care, your insurance provider may require prior authorization and confirmation that the program is medically necessary. Network restrictions, benefit limits, and other plan requirements may also apply.

The Hambrick Center’s admissions team can verify your benefits, explain the information provided by your insurance company, and help you understand your expected financial responsibility before treatment begins.

What to Expect

Insurance and Benefits Verification

Our admissions team will review your insurance benefits and explain any available coverage, estimated costs, and financial responsibilities before treatment begins.

Confidential Admissions Consultation

An admissions coordinator will contact you to discuss your needs, answer your questions, and explain The Hambrick Center’s virtual mental health intensive outpatient program.

Clinical Assessment

When appropriate, we will schedule a confidential telehealth assessment to determine whether our adult mental health IOP is the right level of care for you.

Your information is handled through secure, privacy-focused systems in accordance with applicable healthcare privacy requirements.
